There are many drones, assault buses and AI companions that you can use to aid in your efforts. You must clear the area of all traps, hostile inhabitants, and release any prisoners held there.
As you progress in the game you will come across many different metallic components. You can spend them to upgrade your equipment (e.g., your weapons, or to buy newer versions).
